Children love pictures, and they love to make them. We of riper years are inclined to forget how very strong was our pictorial instinct when we were young. Pictures mean something, always.
What better picture can we give to our children than doing chores with our hands, instilling within a basic instinct of self-reliance and determination, that all things are possible if we would but try. But there must be a teacher or one who is willing to become a teacher. Then and only then do we truly leave something of value and worth after we have left this earth.
In the following pages dear reader, you will find what my father and his father left with this writer and he in turn left with his son and daughters. The delight of doing things for yourself and a feeling of accomplishment.
