Reflections on Our Anniversary

All of we parents pray that through our lives something of significant value has been left with our children. For when we depart this earth, money, position or fame have no value. Though we may not always act as we profess with our writ, our heart felt intention is none the less genuine. Try we must.

Reflections on Our Anniversary!

We have four wonderful children,
and in the month of June so fair,
only fond memories our minds bear.

For in this month 38 years ago,
all was but a glimmer in our heart,
in whose affection we do not depart.

Lady of my heart, mother to you four,
kindled in you her dreams to store,
on wings of angels your life she bore.

From the comfort of our nest you flew,
to begin lives with trust and hope in HIM,
so remember your mother, who stood by you.

What more could an old man, a father ask,
than to bask in the glory of joyous song,
and thank you all for letting me tag along.

Perhaps when all of life is said and done,
my children and my sweet pea will often say,
remember the fun with old dad we had that day.

When you return to the nest on the morrow,
lets take time to stomp mud puddles with glee,
in your fathers face a little boy you'll see,
and when we part there will be no sorrow.
