Oh Cherub, no creature of earth thou art
an unseen but often felt, we believe in thee,
with child like faith with an open heart,
but never have they seen you or will see
with the naked eye, thy form, as it should be;
My mind hath known thee, as if now in heaven,
even now with this desiring human phantasy,
and thought a thought is a shape now given,
it now quenches my soul and is wrung, riven.
We wither from our youth and soon pass away,
but in you we have unshackled this thirst,
thought in the end to wither and then decay,
your Cherub spirit lures me as at the first,
but to some who have not seen you and cursed,
love you have given to all is all the same,
while some have idled in cheer and worst,
for all the unsaid cheers and different name,
the same end is to the unspoken and flame.
Cheer on with deep conviction and to roll,
over ten thousand of our idle, labor not in vain,
for the Cherub child guides hands with control
and stops not until written, spoken and plain,
until the words seek hearts and love will remain
in the glory of believing and claiming as our own,
then for a moment the Cherub tear, a drop of rain,
sinks into our very soul, the heart again feels pain
until all the cheers written are to none unknown.
