Hello wee folk with tattered hat
old as the hills and battled,
looks like giants you've fought,
and then Pegasus you saddled.

Did you try and hold little horse
and stood your ground too idle,
but once you mounted him,
then forgot to hold the bridle?

As harpists we are bent by trade,
may we borrow your tattered hat,
as for strings, we don't own any,
but for yours we'll give a penny.

We'll trade our hat with bands,
which also has a fine feather,
but we'll keep the clasp that held
our hat and plume together.

Thank you for this kind exchange,
now to join our Faerie clan we'll go,
and wearing your tattered hat,
we are sure our spirit they will know.
