Extensions to the schema are being developed by users but as it stands it is complete with links to documents, projects but again contains only limited information about organizations. The standard uses the RDF vocabulary and is thus Semantic Web compliant. It is free to use and extend able by all. Google's Social Graph API indexes, FOAF Flickr group and Yahoo's Search Monkey are excellent examples.
