Phase two was started after our daughters wedding. Then we proceeded to phase three, which was the most expensive portion of the kitchen remodeling.
In this phase we decided to use most of our existing wall cabinets, extend the counter top area, remove a wall and a deep floor to ceiling pantry and then have marble counter tops installed.
The
wall cabinet to the left is a pantry. We decided to completely remove it and install new wall and base cabinets which would give us more counter space, rather than cut it to provide an under countertop pantry and a wall cabinet Very little pantry area will actually be lost since we have
"cleaned out the cabinets" and stored little used items like vases and glass
ware in the top wall cabinet over the range.

We started this phase with a visit to an interior decorator, several big box stores and created some 3D visuals online of what the kitchen will look like with the corner cabinets and wall removed.
Just beyond the kitchen to your left is our breakfast room. It is a congregation room when the children are home. It also becomes smaller with more grandchildren. Our children leave one by one, but return two by four.
