We have the honor of serving
as Co-Chairperson of the Heartland Golden Heart Award committee.
The committee members may be found below, along with the home
page for the award. Inspiration is a key factor in determining
whether a web site receives the Heartland Golden Heart Award.
This author has the further honor of reviewing sites for several
web rings other awards, inside and outside of the Heartland
Community at GeoCities. Web site reviews carry solemn
responsibility.
With so many needs,
aspirations and inspirations there are those which at this point
in our short life on mother earth have become almost urgent.
On this page you will pray fully find reasons to become
involved in advocacy and our Heartland Golden Heart Award.

A web site reviewer will
often look,
beyond mere words, graphics and links,
into what the author thinks,
into a mind of skills and pains they took.
The immediate task we often
will ask,
after finishing our reviewer task,
is there something here for us to learn,
a splash of hidden genius, for which we yearn.
Spell bound, we return there
to glean more,
ideas, journeys and pictures which they store,
in a tapestry of life on our world wide web,
finding a hidden love for ourselves, instead.
Many will return, each with
a different eye,
some will only glance and wisdom is passed by,
and one day when they are in the top ten, ask why,
why did we not give them the encouragement to try?

Advocacy!
by Denny Lancaster

The huddled masses wavered,
they stood on the edge of share,
wondering - if they dare to care.
From the depth of darkness,
they heard a woeful sobbing cry,
listen to me humans, I'll tell you why.
In days of glory, reaching
for a star,
there never was any wee doubt,
my human spirit would go afar.
Then misfortune stuck her
ugly blow,
my fall from glory - sudden and swift,
nor any human from my depth would lift.
So if you stand and continue
to waver,
and are not counted among the few,
one day here with me, you may be too.
And now HIS hand reaches
upward,
a friends misfortune becomes your cry,
this is advocacy, now you know why.
Nor should we trod a lonely
dusty road,
without a friend close at our side,
for in an advocate, our Lord doth abide.

Our Chairperson
Joann sent the graphic below
to welcome dis ole soul as co-chairperson. My first thought
was not to display it on our site for fear that some may think it
self serving. But after careful reflection it is proudly
displayed for the following reasons.
An act of compassion -
Joann was sincerely missed while she was recuperating from
surgery, which she, like most of us, had grossly underestimated
its impact on daily activities. There was not a day to pass that
she was not in our prayers and we sincerely missed not reviewing
web sites for our Heartland Golden Heart award.
Symbolizes our effort -
Heartland community leaders have been and continue to be among
the most compassionate, caring and knowledgeable folk on the www.
Their unbridled enthusiasm in helping everyone no matter what
their ability or disABILITY achieve the creation of a web site
which shows their loves, concerns and interests is legendary.
Luv Purty Purties - To
be honest, The Faerie Keeper loves material objects which ooze
love and creative talent. Thank you Joann!
