Training and Our Responsibility-Talking Hands Award Staff

Does this sound like a familiar story? A middle school student applied for a job and his prospective employer said, I am sorry but you cannot be employed because you are not yet 16. Then when reaching 16 years of age, the student applied again, only to be told he lacked the experience.

Faced with a dilemma, what would you do if a young person wanted to be involved with your award program, but was younger than your age specification in your privacy statement of 18 and you did not want to give the impression that an applicant would be reviewed by someone so young and with no experience either?

After consultations with our Talking Hands Award staff and a close associate, we ended that training is our responsibility if the award community grows, it will be through efforts like our own, to provide supervised training opportunities for young people who may one day develops their own award programs.

He will gain experience by reviewing websites for our Talking Hands Award program so that when he decides to start an award program he has experience in reviewing websites.
