Talking Hands Award

Statistical Information.

The display of our statistical information online is quite different from that of our external "audit sheet" which is detailed below.

First Nomination

Subsequent nominations

Initial determination of teaching and learning.

Reviewers score sheets received

Judges determination received

Initial permission requested from honoree.

Second permission request

Third and final permission request and notification of decline.

Updating and publication

Honoree notification and award presentation.

For our on line statistical purposes we have included only an applicant as one which has one or more nominations and has followed our submission policy. The requirement of a second nomination has been brought to the attention of a nominee.

After a second nomination is received, the next three steps are completed within two weeks at which time we request permission to list the honoree and provide a laudation for publication. Since the process is so short, neither nominees or ourselves feel that a status of applicants other than what we currently publish is necessary in our particular AP. All applicants, whether successful or not are contacted. In the event that the review process takes over two weeks, all applicants are notified as to the probable completion date of the application.

From 1998 through 1999 the award was listed in a number of award submission ventures but due to the lack of quality sites being submitted, these venues were not pursued after that period.

We work with all valid applications to expand, correct and enhance their creations so that they may eventually qualify and have our judges review their applications. The requirement to have two nominations with citations encourages quality submissions and those who honestly wish to improve their web sites and work toward accessibility compliance.

Current year statistics are updated at the end of a monthly period.

We do not include a current status of our review in progress because of privacy purpose considerations.
