A biographical dictionary of medical eponyms where the ultimate aim is to present a complete survey of all medical phenomena named for a person including a personal biography.
Not only do we find an alphabetical listing, but also a biographical listing by country and a search engine for queries by eponym or name. Ole Daniel Enersen has been working on this project since 1994.
I first found the website when searching for Alzheimer's disease in 1994 and had quite frankly forgotten about Whonamedit until a close personal friend had an emergency operation for Spiegel's hernia. Rather than forget again about this informative website, I thought to make a nomination for the Talking Hands Award. Knowing that others will also find another valuable teaching and learning resource within your pages.
