Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH)-Presented 261201

The public-private partnerships for advancing housing technology (PATH) have proven to be a valuable resource for those who suffered damage along the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season in which of the storms that made landfall, five of the seven major hurricanes—Dennis, Emily, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma-were responsible for most of the destruction.

While hurricanes are no strangers to this section of the United States, the utter destruction left very few wishing to rebuild with the same methodology, materials and so forth, was not only ill advised, but not cost effective. What PATH has done, according to a consensus of the fifteen persons who nominated PATH for the Talking Hands Website Award, is to provide in one place, alternative and affordable construction, which is environmentally and esthetically sound building practices, demonstration housing and partners who are knowledgeable of PATH's blue print for future housing.

I too applaud PATH for providing hope in the place of despair, sound and affordable alternatives and a blue print which enhances the livability for all of us, now and into the future.
