De La Salle Brothers began their mission in the Philippines during the year 1911. What was first thought to be a routine preaching by just another group of priests, came to be recognized as a full-time religious education. These teachings were being directed toward the youth. Not every young person in our world will have the opportunity of an education, needless to say one which will manifest hope in a brighter tomorrow with faith in Christ. De La Salle Brothers understood the needs of the less fortunate, and it was with their direct approach an outreaching to the poor began. Talking Hands honors the site De La Salle University for its content that depicts a community built and living on faith with Brother teaching Brother and with the hope that the positive works will influence the young residing there. A Lasallian education is of love and a continual faith in Christ that promises a peaceful and better tomorrow. The Lasallian Family is the light that radiates from the teachings, and what makes this site a grand honoree for the Talking Hands Award.
