Anzac
Day in Australia is a national holiday which commemorates the landing on the
Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey on April 25, 1915. Anzac means different
things to different people, but to most it signifies a birth of nationhood, in
which the diverse character of the nation was exemplified by courage and
compassion. Much to the credit of the producers, a Turkey perspective is
also included, giving weight to an extraordinary event which serves as a source
of pride to both nations.
