Early history of Batsford Park and the arboretum traces the original design concept, its decline and restoration into an arboretum of international standing as a
place of great beauty.
As an educational resource, the Arboretum is a holding of Japanese Flowering Cherries. The bamboo collection is of historical importance in that it was among the first collections in the UK.
The variety of tree's include maples, magnolias, prunus, mountain ash, oaks and pines.
