I am asked upon occasion to review web sites for the Talking Hands Award. Shortly after the death of my daughter to SIDS, I attempted suicide twice, have gone through therapy, continue on a regular basis although two years have past since her death and regretfully know first hand the value of this excellent web site - SMHAI.
Intervention is a key component of suicide prevention. As I read the material found on the web site, I could not help but wonder if this web site had been readily available prior to my first attempt, would things have been different? Perhaps so, maybe not, but try we must to recognize the tell tale signs of despair. I urge, no implore every parent, in fact everyone to book mark SMHAI for now and the future of our children and our children's children.
